Tennessee Temple football fans should make it a priority to buy a game program this fall as they’re a lot of new faces on this year’s team.
Nearly all of the key players who led the Crusaders to a remarkable 12-1 season a year ago are gone. So, too, is most of last year’s coaching staff.
The lone holdover from that staff is Chip Kell, who has been elevated to head coach after serving as an advisory coach a year ago. The former Tennessee standout and recent College Football Hall of Fame inductee takes over a program that must somehow find a way to replace 12 departed seniors, including prolific passer Erik Larson, playmakers Kameron Ridley and Joey Skogen, bulldozing fullback Josh Smith and last, but not least, All-State receiver Seth Skogen, the state’s all-time career receiving leader.
