I would like to thank everyone for coming and sharing this special day with me. As long as I can remember, I’ve always played softball, and I’ve always had a dream to play the game I love so much at a collegiate level, and I’m really thankful to Samford for giving me that opportunity. I’d also like to thank my family. I’ve been playing sense I was five, and as I got older, I started dragging them all across the country playing softball. I know at times, it was a little tough for my brothers and sister to drop what they were doing, to travel out in the middle of nowhere, and watch me play softball on a 90 degree day. I’d also like to thank my mom and dad, they’ve sacrificed so much, to give me the chance to play ball and get better. My dad has coached me from the beginning. He’s always been there, pushing me to be the best I can be. He taught me the game, but also to never be satisfied with what I’ve accomplished, but to always strive for more.
My Grandparents have always been a constant influence on my life, and for that I am very thankful. Most importantly I think God for His Love and Mercy. My desire in life is to do everything for His Glory. He has blessed me with the talent to play this great sport, and for that I am grateful.
While being at Temple, I have made many life long friendships, learned to play a little basketball, and even played some football on the side. Most importantly, I have strengthened my relationship with God. I have become a stronger Christian, and I would like to thank my teachers for being such a positive influence on my life.
Softball has taught me so many of life’s lessons. I will always strive to be a better athlete, but more importantly, I will strive to be a better Christian, so that people will see not my accomplishments as an athlete, but Gods accomplishments through my life.
Thank you.
