After a slow start to the season, Temple picked up momentum in the second half of the season and peaked where it counted most, during tournament time. Starting from a fifth seed, Temple began fighting their way by defeating 4 th seed Spalding, 39-36 in the 1 st round, defeating #1 seed Boyd-Buchanan, 27-24 in the semi-finals and avenged two earlier losses to the #2 seed Grace in the Championship game with a decisive win of 47-29.“The kids finally bought into a few adjustments we made early in the season and peaked at the right time,” said Head Coach Scott Chastain. “I quoted 2 Timothy 4:7 to them before the tournament and told them we had kept the faith; all we had to do now was to keep fighting the good fight and finish the course and thanks to the Lord, we finished the course.”

For their efforts in the tournament, four players were placed on the All-Tournament Team. They were Nathan Rector, Philip DePrimo, Alex Lyttleton and the doctor of defense, Johnny Hutchins
