The elementary girls basketball team is coached by Mike Erhart.  Coach Erhart teaches high school math at Temple Academy and also coaches varsity volleyball.  This season for the elementary girls will be a challenge, due to the fact that Temple Academy did not have an elementary girls basketball team last year.  The team will consist of 4th  - 6th graders, but will be competing against schools that have predominantly 6th grade only teams.  The goals of the team will be focusing on fundamentals and focusing on getting better.

Game Summary:

The ladies lead 6 to 2 at the half and increase that lead to 9 to 2 in the fourth quarter. But Boyd did not go down without a fight. They cut the Temple lead to 11 to 9 before Jessica Erhart and Wuendy Gomez each finished on their lay-up attempts to give the final score of 15 - 9. The victory gave Temple third place in the ISC B tournament. Boyd had beaten the Crusaders previously during the season, but Temple showed how much they had improved by winning when it most counted.

 
Our Elementary Boys team has had an outstanding season. We have the No. 1 seed in the "A-bracket" and we're scheduled to play Friday night at 5:15 p.m. at Grace Academy. The Elementary Girls has had a good season as well and due to their strong season finish, they have placed as the No. 2 seed in the "B-bracket"! The Girls play on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Senter School. Please come out and support both the Boys and the Girls teams during this exciting post season tournament!

Temple was down at the end of the first quarter 1 - 0, but the answer with 10 second quarter points and lead at the half 10 - 7. Temple broke the game open in the third quarter by buiding its lead to 18 - 8 going into the fourth quarter. The ladies are continuing to improve, and they are becoming very exciting to watch. Their next game will be tomorrow at Vance Gym versus Grace at 10:00 AM.

Temple was able to get a win against St. Peters. Temple lead 14 - 2 and never looked back. The large lead that they were able to complile allowed the younger players to play the entire second half. The younger players were very impressive with their teamwork. Each player was attempting to get other players to score. Temple\'s next game will be tomorrow night versus St. Jude's fifth grade team. Temple led at half time 8 -4, but could not garner the win. The game was tied late in the fourth quarter, but Lookout Valley was able to pull ahead in the end. The girls play next on Monday, January 22nd at Vance Gym at 6:00 versus St. Peters.

Temple played a very good St. Jude in a tough manner. Temple lost to St. Jude 32 - 6 approximately a month ago, but this game was different. At halftime Temple was down 10 - 4, and had missed some easy shots they would usually make. Temple kept on the defensive pressure, but St. Jude eventually wore them down. The final score was 22 to 8. Temple continues to improve. Their next game will be this Thursday at Silverdale at 3:30.

Temple played its second game in as many days, and it showed. Although at times the ladies played hard, they were obviously tired. Temple was able to pull within eight (20 - 12) with about three minutes left in the game, but that was the closest they would get. The Temple ladies are continuing to improve with each game.

Temple played Berean much better than the first time the two teams met. Temple was actually within six points early in the fourth quarter, 12 to 6, but Temple could not capitalize on steals they were getting. It was a great defensive effort, and the offense is not far behind.

Although when a person looks at the score of the Temple Grace game, they would think that Temple was dominated. This was not true. Actually, Temple took more shots than Grace, and the shots were good shots. Nothing fell. On the defensive end of the floor, Temple worked very hard. Temple improved its record to 4 - 4 by beating Oakwood at Oakwood 14 - 12. The Lady Crusaders led 10 - 3 at the half, but Oakwood fought back and tied the game at 10 - 10 going into the fourth quarter. Temple then held Oakwood scoreless for the rest of the game, while scoring two baskets of their own. Temple's next game will be this Friday at Vance Gym versus Berean Academy at 6:00
