Dear Parents:

This is to inform you that Tennessee Temple Academy is in the process of transferring its membership and accreditation from the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools to the Association of Christian Schools, International and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. After much prayerful consideration, we feel that this is the right step for our school and ministry. ACSI will provide for us a continued biblical focus, academic rigor, and expanded recognition and credibility. SACS, in partnership with ACSI, will further encourage educational excellence and enhance our academic credibility.

We are submitting our membership and accreditation documents to ACSI immediately. We understand that because we already have TACS accreditation, it is just a matter of submitting the paperwork for transfer and receiving approval at the ACSI annual meeting in December. That approval places us in accredited status, not candidate status, because of already having accreditation with TACS. After that approval, we will have three years to meet any criteria that we do not meet at the time. The ACSI criteria is very similar to that of TACS, so I see no problem with meeting any of their requirements.

Once we have ACSI approval, we will immediately request approval with SACS. Because of the time of their annual meeting being so close to that of ACSI in December, we may not get that approval for a year.

I also want you to know that instead of participating in the TACS competition in the spring, we will be participating in the various ACSI competitions which are scheduled at different times across the Southeast. The directors of our various programs will be supplying related details to you and your children.

If you have questions, we will be discussing this in more detail in our parents’ meetings that are being scheduled later in this month.

We are excited about how God is moving and working in our Academy. As we look to the future, we have claimed Matthew 21:22, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” We know that God has great things in store for us.
