FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Thursday November 2, 2006 Contact: Rob Eldridge 423-493-4337 Football to remain at Tennessee Temple Academy CHATTANOOGA , TN – Despite the rumors that have been circulating as of late, as to whether or not the school will have a football team in 2007, the administration at Tennessee Temple Academy are adamant that football is here to stay. “We were the first of the area Christian schools to offer football 4 years ago, we have had a winning season every year since and we have a very good chance of winning the Division 3-A State Championship this year. Why would terminating our football program even be a consideration?” answered Rob Eldridge, Director of Development and Public Relations for the Academy. “Our football program has ushered in a new level of school spirit and pride for us and we are starting to see members of the local community coming to our games to support us. News flash, Football at Temple Academy is here to stay!” The rumor was started due to the fact that Tennessee Temple Academy will be graduating 12 seniors next year; including Seth Skogen and Josh Smith, both who have won local, regional and state honors and are candidates for Mr. Football this year. “It’s no doubt that we will miss our seniors next season,” Mr. Eldridge said. “They are a special group of men and they are leaving a legacy behind for us to follow. We will be rebuilding next year but who knows, we may surprise some teams with the talent stepping up and with those new students God may bring to us. We are expecting that because of this football season, our players that are returning, our great coaching staff, the history of our overall sports program and our exclusive free college tuition for those attending 9-12 th grades, that we will be doing more reloading than rebuilding for next season, “ commented Mr. Eldridge. Temple Academy plays this Friday at Finley Stadium against Monterey who finished 4 th in Division 4-A with a 6-4 season. Kick-off is at 7 pm.
